"To The Fountain"

Blackbeard, the pirate all pirates fear, resurector of the dead in his spare time, is now scared to death that he is going to die.  According to prophecy, he will be killed by a one-legged man and the only one of those we know of is Barbossa, the very man who Blackbeard had attacked. And when Blackbeard attacked Barbossa, Barbossa lost his leg, making him one-legged and therefore prophisized to kill Blackbeard. Ironic, right? Blackbeard is of course a master of voodo so he's all right, right? WRONG! However he does fight fate but it of course fails but it's all very entertaining. Using his voodo powers Blackbeard uses Jack to help him find the fountain of youth, which would save him and stop the prophecy. Jack: "I actually have no interest in the fountain what so ever. So if your heart is set you may drop me of anywhere you like."

Blackbeard:"That'll be all quartermaster. Your words surround you like fog which makes you hard to see." Jack:"And what of you? The mighty Blackbeard, beheaded they say, still your body swam three times round your ship, and climb back on board. And here you are running scared." Blackbeard: "Scared?" Jack: "To the Fountain." Blackbeard: "The quartermaster sees things before they happen. He has foreseen my death. And so the fates have spoken, the threads of destiny woven." Jack: "You have a ridicouisly high regard for fate, mate." Blackbeard: "And you?" Jack: "Me? I'm skeptikal of predicting any future. Which includes me." Blackbeard:" It would be foolish to battle fate. But I be tempted to cheat it." Potatoe pototoe. Blackbeard: "I will reach the fountain. You will lead me." Jack then tries to stab him but apparently, "That Knife will serve you no better than the mutiny you divised." Jack: "Mutiny served me well. It gained me an audience with you." 

They then talk about Angelica, and how she is a mutinous first mate and Blackbeard didn't even guess it. Is it just me or is Blackbeard a bit slow? Mean while Blackbeard is playing around with Jack's little voodo doll. But then Jack goes too far about how evil Angelica is and Blackbeard takes out a knife which he uses to draw a strange symbol onto Jack's chest. 
                                                                                                                        
Blackbeard also proves his voodoness is a match for fate later on the island that holds the fountain of youth when he is making Jack jump off a cliff to find the silver chalices. Jack: "Just as I thought. Not this way." Angelica: "This is the way isn't it?" Jack:" Of course it is, but we should go around to the east." Angelica: "That would take us out to the path of the chalices." Jack:" Then we'll circle back." Angelica: "There is no time."  Jack: "Your the one who insisted on bringing the bloody mermaid." I don't think the mermaid thinks she's bloody.  Angelica: "The mutiny didn't help." Jack:" You walk like a girl." Angelica:" You would know." Blackbeard: "Someone must go." Angelica:" You mean split up." Jack: "You mean jump? This I cannot wait to see." Blackbeard: "Sparrow will go. Find the ship, retrieve the chalices." Angelica: "Sparrow? What makes you think he will come back." I for one think Jack Sparrow is 100% trustworthy, since he's, ya know, dishonest and all. Jack: "Yes. What makes you think he will come back?" Angelica: "We cannot trust him, father I'll go." Jack: "She'll go." Angelica then tries to jump of but Blackbeard stops her. Way to ruin the fun, Blackbeard! 

Blackbeard: "How much farther to the fountain? I'm running out of time." Jack: "About a day's march north following that river which will lead through a series of pools. Then you're close." Blackbeard tries to take Jacks Compass. Blackbeard: "You will go." Jack: "I was sure it would come to this. You that feeling you get sometimes when you're standing in a high place? Sudden urge to jump. . . I don't have it." Blackbeard: "I need those chalices." Jack: "Shoot. Save me the bother of the fall." Blackbeard: "You will go. You will return. . . Or I will kill her [ points gun at Angelica]" Jack: "You won't kill your own daughter." Then Black beard prepares six pistals, with four of them loaded. He then has Jack pick which two to Blackbeard will shoot her with. That way Blackbeard proves that he is willing to kill his daughter. Jack doesn't want Angelica to get hurt, but he also doesn't want himself to get hurt so he asks the quartermaster if he'll survive the jump. The quartermaster asks for the Jack's doll and throws it off the cliff. the doll survives the fall so it looks like Blackbeard has powerful voodo powers, Angelica is safe, and Jack is safe. So Isuppose this is a good time tosay," All's well that ends well."

"What's Your Name?"

As we all know Captain Jack Sparrow is a pirate. And being a pirate means that you are breaking the law. When you break the law you usually don't want to be caught breaking said law, so Jack has a few disguises. However he likes a certain "code-name" and its Smith, Judge Smith, or smithy if you like. For example in the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Port worker:"Wha! Hold up you. It's a shilling to tie up your boat to the dock. And I shall need to know your name." Jack:" What do you say to three shillings, and we forget the name" Port worker:" Welcome to Port Royal Mr. Smith." Of course after that great chat, Jack being a pirate, steals the man's pouch of many. But that's not the only time that Jack Sparrow uses an alias. 
     Jack also uses the name Smith when talking to those silly navy soldiers, Murtogg and Mullroy. Murtogg:"This dock is off limits to civilians." Jack:" I'm terribly sorry I didn't know, if I see one I shall inform you immediately." Jack then tries to get on board the Interceptor, but is blocked by the two. Jack:"Apparently there's some high-toned and fancy to-do down at the for, eh. How could it be that two upstanding gentlemen like yourselves did not merit an invitation." Murtogg:" Someone has to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians." 











Then they start talking about how the Interceptor is faster than the Black Pearl and some other boring stuff. But during all this chit chat Jack sneaks on board but the to soldiers realize it and climb a board as well. Murtogg: "Eh! get away from there!" Mullroy:" You don't have permission to be aboard there, Mate." Jack:" I'm sorry it's just such a pretty boat. er,  Ship." Murtogg:" What's your name?" Jack:"Smith. Or Smithy, if you like." And let's not forget when Jack later impersonates Judge Smith in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but that's a story for another time. So remember "I'm Captain Jack Sparrow" -Jack

"That Dog Is Never Going To Move"

In many old movies, prisoners are kept behind locked bars that has only one key, and that key is usually guarded by a dog.  That key (excuse the pun) to escaping prison is persuading the dog to bring the key to you.  In The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, trapped behind the bars in Port Royal, Jack stands by and watches the other prisoners desperately beg the dog for the key. Prisoners: "Come here, boy.  Want a nice juicy bone? Come here, boy."  Jack: "You can keep doing that forever.  That dog is never going to move."  Prisoners: "Oh, excuse us if we haven't resigned ourselves to the gallows just yet."  Once all the other prisoners are gone, Jack himself must turn to the final resort.  Jack: "Come on, doggy. It's just you and me now. It's you and old Jack. Come on. That's a boy. Good boy. Come get the bone. That's a good boy. Come on. A bit closer. A bit closer. That's it. That's it, doggy. Come on, you filthy, slimy, mangy cur. Don't do that. No, no! I didn't mean it!"  Maybe that wasn't the smartest move...

As it turns out, the dog does move.  In the next movie, The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, it's Pintel and Ragetti, the two goofy crew members of the Pearl, who are trapped in the Porty Royal prison.  They however, are much more successful with coaxing the keys from the dog.  Pintel:  "Well, I say it was Divine Providence what escaped us from jail."  Ragetti: "And I say it was me being clever.  Ain't that right, Pooch?"  The two sail to the island where the Black Pearl is stranded.  Confused and not finding anyone, they start to prepare the boat to set sail.  Suddenly, Gibbs, Will, and the other crew members run for the ship.  They hop on board the Pearl but find that there is a dilemma.  WHERE'S JACK?  Just in the nick of time, Jack runs onto the shore, chased by the cannibal islanders who plan to eat their god, Jack.  Jack quickly climbs on board, leaving the cannibals completely confused.  That's when they see the dog, who has been left on shore by the crew.  The islanders have found their new chief/god/dinner.  

It seems as though we'll never see this dear dog again after he is left behind, but as it turns out, he's unbeatable!  In The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, the nine pirate lords run into some disagreements about the pirate king and declaring war.  To settle these disputes, the Keeper of the Code, Captain Edward Teague (aka Jack's father) is called out with his gigantic book of the Pirata Codex.  Of course, this book is highly guarded and requires a key to open.  And who better a guard of keys than the good old prison dog from Port Royal?  Pintel and Ragetti, of course, are completely astonished to find this dog alive.  Ragetti: "That can't be."  Pintel: "How?"  Teague: "Sea turtles, mate."  Now where does that sound familiar?

"Jack Sparrow Is Not My Name"

Joshamee Gibbs has done it again!  Gotten himself arrested by the by the British and now must be tried in court.  What is Gibbs done that's so bad?  Well, everyone believes that he's Captain Jack Sparrow and everyone knows that Captain Jack Sparrow is the most infamous of them all.  A lot of people attend the trial in hopes to see a good hanging.

Gibbs is dragged into court and the judge is announced: Judge Smith.  Lucky for Gibbs, it's not Smith at all.  It's much more better: Captain Jack Sparrow himself!  Gibbs of course recognizes his best friend but the rest of the audience is fooled.  Gibbs: "Jack!"  Unfortunately for him, everything he says results in a nice punch.  Jack: "Not necessary, you were saying?"  Gibbs: "Jack Sparrow is not my name!  It's Joshamee Gibbs!"  Jack: "Is that so?  It say's Jack Sparrow, right here."  Gibbs:  "I told ya', I'm not Jack Sparrow, who I would be happy to identify to the court if it would help my case."  Jack:  "I think it would be a poor defense unless you want to be bludgeoned again like a harpsey!"  Good old friendly banter.  Jack continues: "Joshamee Gibbs!  The crime in which you have been found guilty of is being innocent of being Jack Sparrow.  I hear by commute your sentence and order that you be imprisoned for the remainder of your miserable, morale, mutton-chopped life.  THERE!"  He strikes the ballot and the session is closed.  And whatever it is that Jack just said is to be carried out immediately.

Gibbs is shoved into a carriage to be taken to prison.  Jack's got it all planned out though.  He sneaks out of the court, where he has the real judge tied up and leaves his wig, glasses, and robes behind, with a polite, "Thank you very much."  Jack pulls on his hat and returns to his good old pirate self.  He too is in the carriage and has paid off the driver.  Instead of taking them to prison, they'll ride to the outskirts of London and make it to the coast, where they can somehow find a ship and return to the piratey world of the Caribbean.  No more of this fancy British stuff.  Jack's got it all together: "I arrived in London town just this morning to save one Joshamee Gibbs from an appointment with the gallows.  Seeing as how you're still alive, I say it's all been very success thus far."  

But as it turns out, the driver is paid off by the government to take the two to St. James' Palace.  Oops.  So maybe things aren't going as successfully as planned, but at least the two are back together drinking some good old rum!

Once the carriage stops, the two thinks that they're safe and happily come out of the carriage.  But then they realize they are about as far from being safe of the Royal Navy as possible.  They're surrounded by about fifty British soldiers.  Gibbs:  "All part of the plan, yes?"  Jack: "No."  Awkward...

"Think Like Jack"

Will: "He thinks we're a hallucination."  Jack: "...William, tell me something: Have you come because you need my help to save a certain distressing damsel–or rather–damsel in distress? Either one."  Will: "No." Jack: "Well, then, you wouldn't be here, would you? So you can't be here. Q.E.D., you're not really here."  You tell him Jack. Well I suppose it might be a bit frustrating to have sailed to the end of the world to save someone who thinks you're not real. Eventually Jack is convinced that Will and the others are real and they set of to the land of the living. Will does love Elizabeth but when it comes to freeing his father he is willing to betray anyone  including his piratey friend Captain Jack Sparrow. . .
After arriving into the land of the living, in the Black Pearl, Will convinces Jack and Barbossa to go onto an island to get supplies leaving him in command of the ship. What Barbossa and Jack don't know is that Pirate Lord Sao Feng and his men is waiting for them, courtesy of Will Turner.
After Will ends up betraying  Jack to Sao Feng, Sao Feng gets a bit worried that Will will not keep his promises. Sao Feng:"You crossed Barbossa, you were willing to cross Jack Sparrow; why should I expect any better?" Will:"I need the Black Pearl to free my father; you're helping me to get it."  Spoken like a true pirate. 
Jack being Jack, however, finds away to escape Sao Feng and Beckett and sails his ship to Shipwreck Cove.  Will is also on board the Black Pearl begins to drop dead bodies and barrels in hopes of leading Beckett and the Royal Navy also to the Cove.  Captain Jack, however, discovers this all this sneaking around.  Will: "I said to myself, 'think like Jack.'"  Jack: " This is what you've arrived at? Lead Beckett to Shipwreck Cove so as to gain his trust, accomplish your own ends? It's like you don't know me at all, mate. And how does your dearly beloved feel about this plan? Ah, you've not seen fit to trust her with it."  Having some doubts about Elizabeth and women? Now that does sound like something Jack would do.  Jack then throws Will overboard with a barrel, but leaves him one very valuable object: his compass.

Will gets picked up by Lord Beckett, just the way he planned and has a nice chitchat with Beckett and Davy Jones.  Jones is shocked to see Will alive, because he assumed that he died during the kraken attack shortly after escaping the Flying Dutchman.  But this surprise doesn't even compare when he finds out that Jack too has survived the kraken's attack on the Black Pearl.  Will agrees to lead Beckett to Shipwreck Cove, but Beckett doubts that Will would be able to.  Will smiles, pulls out the compass, and responds, "What is it you want the most?"  And so they sail to Shipwreck Cove.  Let the war begin!

"Let's Just Haul Out Our Swords"

Every Pirates of the Caribbean movie that has been made has always had some pretty epic battles and some great sword fights.  Just about every character has proven that they sure do know how to use a sword.  And whenever there is a dispute, that skill sure does come in handy?  Which sword fight is your favorite?  These are a few of mine.

6: Barbossa vs. Blackbeard in The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Hector Barbossa has had it out for Blackbeard ever since Blackbeard stole the Pearl, as well as his own leg, from him.  Creatively, Barbossa dips his sword in poison, so the slightest contact with it can kill you.  Barbossa meats Blackbeard again at the Fountain of Youth.  Revenge is sweet.  They duel, and ultimately Barbossa wins, stabbing Blackbeard with the poisonous sword.  Amoung sword fighting, Barbossa also enjoys collecting rare, poisonous frogs.  Barbossa: "Can't an old man have a hobby?"

5: Angelica vs. Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Something fishy is going down in England for Jack.  Everywhere he goes, he hears talk that Captain Jack Sparrow is recruiting sailors, when really Jack is doing no such thing.  When he walks into a bar, someone even scoffs at him for dressing like Jack Sparrow.  Finally having enough, Jack confronts this imposter.  Jack: "You've stolen me and I'm hear to take meself back."  Of course, the only way to do that is through a duel.  When the imposter uses a special move, Jack realizes who it is: his long lost love, Angelica.  They end their duel with a nice kiss.  Jack: "I've always wanted to do that."

4: Davy Jones vs. Captain Sparrah in The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Jack and Jones are fighting for the key and chest with the heart of Jones, and things don't look the best for Jack.  They travel around the whole ship and the most epic part takes place as they duel on the mast in the pooring rain.  Jack even falls off, clinging to the chest for his life.  Jack gets the heart from the chest and considers stabbing it.  But once Will is dying, Jack lets Will stab the heart and kill Davy Jones.  "Calypso" -The last word of Davy Jones.

3: Jack Sparrow vs. Hector Barbossa in The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

After being abandoned on the same island twice by Barbossa, Jack finally makes it back to the Isla de Muerta, even more hungry for revenge.  Jack, too clever for just about anyone, secretly steals a piece of the cursed aztec gold, making him imortal also. Jack: "I couldn't resist, mate." And they just continue to fight.  Barbossa: "So what now, Jack Sparrow?  Are we to be two immortals locked in an epic battle until judgement day until and the trumpets sound?"  Jack: "Or you could surrender?"  And they continue their battle until Will lifts the curse and Jack pulls out his gun and shoots Barbossa instead.

2: Will Turner vs. Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

This is one of the best scenes of the whole series.  From the second Jack and Will first meet their both on eachother in a pretty heated duel.  Will hates pirates and anyone who threatens Elizabeth.  Jack just happens to be both.  Will: "I practice three ours a day so that when I meet a pirate, I can kill him!"  The two fight around the whole shop, Will determined to kill him and Jack trying to escape.  Finally, Jack has Will cornered with a gun, but the blacksmith wakes up and knocks Jack out, just intime for the Royal Navy to arrest him.

1: Jack Sparrow vs. Will Turner vs. James Norrington in The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

A three way battle takes place in the Isla de Cruces for the heart of Davy Jones, each wanting it for their own reasons.  It's every man for themselves.  Things heat up as the men are forced to roll around the island on a giant wheel.  They've all got grudges on the other, claiming the other ruined their life.  Norrington:  "By your leave Mr. Turner."  Will: "By your leave, Mr. Norrington."  Then, Will has an epiphany: "I used to practice three hours a day so I could kill a pirate.  Well, now I am one."  The circle of life, William Turner.  But it's more than just the key they are fighting for, it's also Elizabeth.  Norrington still holds a grudge on Will for stealing her and Jack is still confused after their curiousity speech.  All this anger sure does make for a great fight!

"As I Said...Pursuade Me"

While Will is over on The Flying Dutchman Jack and Elizabeth had quite the conversation on the Black Pearl about how Will was captured Davy Jones and Jack had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it....(yeah surrre)  Elizabeth kind of believes him so their conversation turns into an "lets share all our secrets" session and Elizabeth produces some papers (Apparently very  interesting papers,)And of course curious Jack has to Question her about how she came by letters of marque signed by Lord Cutler Beckett.

Persuade me.....

Jack (about the letters Beckett signed): "Might I enquirer as to how you came by these?"
Elizabeth: "Persuasion."
Jack: "Friendly?"
Elizabeth: "Decidedly not."

Jack swipes the letters out of her hands.

Elizabeth: "Jack, the letters, give them back.
Jack: No. Persuade me."
Elizabeth: "You do know Will taught me how to handle a sword."
Jack: "As I said...Persuade me."

You're a good man.

Hmm, Just what does Jack want?  Well duhh he wants a kiss. However right then she didn't take the bait. She sat with Jack's compass ( the one that directs you to what you want most)  For a while but gave up because it kept pointing to Jack.  Well then she decides to list all of Jacks wonderful attributes. And then try to kiss him only to decide in the end she doesn't want to kiss him. This didn't make Jack very happy.  Well I think Elizabeth is off her rocker....Because later in the movie she decides to reaffirm her love of Will right in front of Jack.

Is he the one?

And after that long fight on the island over the chest, they all return back to the ship. Day Jones and his crew are on their boat right next to them so Jack decides to flaunt what they found in the chest. expect he doesn't have it.(ooops) Even though Jack doesn't even have the heart of Jones, The kraken is sent after them anyways. And here come Elizabeth final decision (shes been doing a lot of deciding lately and it doesn't seem to be paying off if you ask me)  She has to chose either to save Jack and be chased by the kraken with the rest of the crew, or to kill Jack and be safe. Well lets just say she sealed his fate with a kiss. And Jack was on the ship when the kraken came back for it's second attack.  Do you think Elizabeth made the right decision?

"Jack Sparrow Sent Me"

Will, determined to ensure Elizabeth's safety, agrees to find Jack the key to the heart of Davy Jones as a trade for Jack's compass.  The crew sets out to find the Dutchman.  Intead, they find a shipwrecked boat in the middle of the sea.  Will: "That's the Flying Dutchman?  She doesn't look like much."  Jack: "Neither do you.  Do NOT underestimate her."  Of course, Jack knows its not really the Flying Dutcman but what Will doesn't know, won't hurt him.  Well, sorta.  Gibbs: "Must of run a fowl of the reef."  Jack: "So what's your plan then?"  Will: "I row over, search the ship until I find your bloody key."  Jack: "And if there are crew men?"  Will: "I cut down anyone in my path."  Jack: "I like it.  Simple.  Easy to remember."  Yes, Will is quite the genius.

Will hops onto the little ship and finds all these terrible looking people who are at the verge of death.  Confused, he tries to look around for the key.  Then, the real Flying Dutchman appears captained by none other than Davy Jones himself.  Jones recruits some of the others on the ship, and then kills the others.  Jones: "Life is cruel.  Why should the afterlife be any different."  He reaches Will and is somewhat confused.  Jones: "You are neither dead nor dying.  What is your purpose here?"  Will, remembering what Jack told him to say if he ran into any trouble, weakly says, "Jack Sparrow sent me to settle his debt."  Jones: "What is your purpose here?"  Will: "Jack Sparrow... sent me to settle his debt."  Jones:"Did he now?  I'm sorely tempted to accept that offer."


Captain Davy Jones and his crew use their creepy teleportation powers to hop on board the Black Pearl.  Jones reminds Jack of their agreement: that Jack would captain the Pearl for thirteen years and then spend the rest of his life on board the Flying Dutchman.  As tempting as that sounds, Jack tries to decline this, claiming he was only captain for two years before the was stranded on the island.  Jones:  "Then you were a poor captain but a captain nonetheless."  Ouch.  Jack: "You have my payment.  One soul to serve on your ship is already over there."  Jones: "One soul is not equal to another."  Jack: "Aha!  So we've established my proposal in sound principle.  Now we're just haggling over a price."  Actually, I think Will is pretty cool.  Jones:  "Price?"  Jack: "Just how many souls do you think my soul is worth?"  Jones: "One hundred souls."  Wow.  Jack must have quite a divine soul.  Jack, however, wants to keep Will with him on the quest for souls.  Jack: "Have you not met Will Turner?  He's noble, heroic, and a terrific soprano.  Worth at least four, maybe three and a half.  And did I happen to mention... he's in love?  With a girl.  Due to be married.  Betrothed.  Dividing him from her and her from him would only be half as cruel as acutally allowing him to be joined in holy matrimony.  Eh?"  Jones:  "I keep the boy!  Ninety-nine souls."  Oh, nice try Jack.

So with that Jack sails to the lovely port of Tortuga (which by the way means turtle in Spanish) to collect ninety-nine more souls to trade to Davy Jones.  Jack:  "How are we doing ?"  Gibbs:  "Including those four, that gives us four."  Progress!  Then, a surprise visitor shows up, James Norrington, here in Tortuga to join Captain Jack Sparrow's crew!  Who would have thought?  Meanwhile, Will is trapped onboard the Dutchman with his father, trying to find away to free both himself, his father, and Elizabeth.  And the rest is to be continued....

"Depends On The Light"

Jack must have gotten his craziness from somewhere?  Of course, "Not a lot's known about Jack Sparrow before he showed up in Tortuga with a mind to go after the treasure of the Isla de Muerta. That was before I'd met him, back when he was captain of the Black Pearl." -Gibbs.  So for the first two movies they don't mention Jack's past much.  Everyone assumes he's just wierd because he usually is drunk.  But in The Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End we start to wonder if Jack is Jack because of genes.  His father, Edward Teague, shows up at the Brethren Court as they argue about the king of the Pirate Lords.  Teague is the keeper of the pirate code.  Jack is just delighted to be reunited with his father.

Jack and his father have a good father-to-son bonding time in the cove.  Captain Jack: "What? You've seen it all, done it all. You survived. That’s the trick, isn’t it? To survive?" Teague: "It’s not just about living forever, Jackie. The trick is living with yourself forever." Jack then asks about how his mother is doing.  I'm guessing her last name is Sparrow, because Jack isn't Captain Jack Teague.  He just holds up a little, shriveled up head.  Good to see mum again, right Jack?

Jack really heads his father's advice about wanting to live forever in The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  After saving his son's life, Teague and Jack go to their favorite place: a bar!  Teague: "I heard where you're headed. The Fountain."  Jack: "Have you been there?" Teague: "Does this face looks like it's been to the Fountain of Youth?" Jack: "Depends on the light."  Oh Jack, always so polite.  


Teague: "Find out every detail before you set sail."  Jack: "Set sail?  I'd love to, but for that I may need a ship."  Teague:  "Those folk over there.  They have a ship.  They're signing up sailor over there."  Smooth.  You just sent your son over only to get himself imprisoned upon the Queen Anne's Revenge.  Such a great role model.  Teague:  "And one last thing, Jackie.  The Fountain tests you.  Mark my words."  Edward and Jack, like father like son. 

"...And I'm gonna take it."

Ahhh back to the beginning. Jack Sparrow is searching for his ship The Black Pearl. But first he has to wake up his old pal Joshamee Gibbs. Who like any other pirate on his day off is drunk and passed out with a bunch of pigs. Sounds like fun ehh? Wide awake after a quick dousing Gibbs is wondering what Jack is doing waking up an old pirate like him. "I'm going after 'The Black Pearl'...I know where it's going to be, and I'm gonna take it.""Jack, it's a fool's errand. You know better than me the tales of the Black Pearl."
"That's why I know what Barbossa is up to. All I need is a crew."
"From what I hear tell of Captain Barbossa, he's not a man to suffer fools, nor strike a bargain with one." "Well, then I'd say it's a very good thing I'm not a fool, then, eh?"  Well that sounds like a great plan Jack! Except he has no crew. but he does have a nice big boat curtsey of the British Navy. You all remember that story of course he and will stormed on board and commandeered  the ship no harm no foul right?


Wrong.  Norrington was quite upset at the loss of his ship and sets sail after them to reclaim it.  Hmm quite a lot of borrowing without asking going on if you ask me.  Anyways Jack hires his crew of swashbukling pirates thanks to the help of Gibbs:"I'll find us a crew. There's bound to be some sailors on this rock, crazy as you.""One can only hope. Take what you can!""Give nothin' back!"  and they set sail on a great adventure to find and hopefully defeat Hector Barbossa and reclaim Jack's ship 'The Black Pearl'.  They catch up with good old Barbossa after a while, Jack confronts his mortal enemy and jerks his tail around with rude little jokes about; apples...? Apples, really Jack you sounds SO threatening. NOT, but Jack knows something the rest of his crew does not; Hector Barbossa hasn't tasted an apple in years and instantly grows tired of Jack's insolence and refuses to turn over the ship. 

Jack gets thrown off the ship and the rest of crew is held captive by Barbossa. Well you just had to bring up the apples didn't you Jack? After being marrooned on a familiar island with Elizabeth Swann for a while she goes crazy and burns all the rum in hopes of being found be her fiance the great James Norrington, who just happens to be in the area anyways looking for Jack and gives them a lift back to the middle of the ocean, Where Jack Convinces him to go after the pirates who kidnapped his gorgeous bride-to-be Elizabeth, all the while planning his revenge on the man who stole his pride and joy away from him: Hector Barbossa.  Norrington being love struck and foolish listens to Jack and sets sail for Isla de Muerta.  But his opponents are far more menacing then he thinks. 

Norrington splits up his men and takes some with him while leaving some on board his vessel. His men fight valiantly in battle but were losing quite badly by the time Jack intervened  unknowingly saving Norrington's life and many lives of other British naval officers.  But how might you ask did he accomplish this  act of heroism. Well he had his newest friend Will Turner cut open his hand. Ending the curse that was placed on Barbossa and his crew man years ago. And just as Barbosssa thinks he has won Jack shoots him in the heart and denies him the pleasure of finishing his first apple in years. 


                    Jack however isn't done yet, he gets recaptured by the British Navy and is all set to be hung the public arena (which just happens to be on a balcony quite close to the ocean) but his crew saves the day  and Jack narrowly escapes the gallows. But of course he would have even without the help of his friends (well maybe) because he is Captain Jack Sparrow, Savvy?
